The Advantages and Appeal of Iron Table Legs

When faced with the task of redecorating a modern loft or apartment, many want a non-traditional style to complement an urban surrounding. Modern furniture has a particular sleekness and linear look, and matching that style can be difficult. When considering tables, we have noticed how trendy iron table legs have become. Consequently, we sought out to find the advantages and appearance value of iron table legs.

Advantages

Although wood is quite sturdy, cast iron is much stronger. Wood is particularly susceptible to surface damage due to its delicate finish. Even when wood is coated with a protective agent, the layer wears over time. Additionally, if the wooden legs of a table ever break, replacement legs can be expensive. Most people end up buying a new table when substantial damage to their old one occurs. People put a lot of stress on tables, but metal legs rectify many of those problems.
The scratches and dings that appear over time are less noticeable on iron and easier to fix than wooden legged tables. Some of the most demanding fields use cast iron because the metal is known for its longevity. For instance, iron table legs are a staple of most restaurants. Owners prefer them because of their low maintenance, high durability, and resale value. We have found that tables with these legs easily outlast other furniture and are easier to sell.

Appearance

Iron legged tables come in a vast amount of styles. Some feature elegant curvatures and others have bold column-like legs. The colors of the legs are usually black, gray, or white depending on the type of alloy mixed with the iron. Many manufactures spray paint or dip different colors onto the iron to accent the table's top. Whichever style desired, all have a non-traditional look that lends to a more modern atmosphere.
